When choosing a destination for your backpacking trip, it is important to consider the level of difficulty of the trail and the weather conditions. Upon arrival in Madagascar’s capital, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city (approximately 45 minutes). The remainder of the day is free for you to rest.

After breakfast, take a domestic flight (MD702/0800-0910) to the coastal city of Morondava. Upon arrival, take a canoe to the fishing village of Betania to visit the church, canoe workshops, and school, and interact with the local community. A special seafood lunch is arranged. In the afternoon, visit the famous Avenue of Baobabs for a spectacular sunset.

After breakfast, fly back to Antananarivo (MD703/0945-1050), then drive approximately 5 hours to Andasibe National Park. Your adventure begins with exploring Butterfly Valley, searching for chameleons. After dark, embark on a night walk in the rainforest to spot nocturnal lemurs and chameleons.

In the morning, visit the Vakona Lemur Island for photo opportunities with semi-wild lemurs, followed by a visit to Crocodile Valley. Then, track Indri-indri, the largest species of lemur in the wild Andasibe rainforest. Afterwards, drive back to Antananarivo.
